And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and the darkness he called night. And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
Men are men and women are women. Confuse that in the animal world, and one dies.

Sounds like a survival of the fittest to me. As a repeat I guess, but it goes all the way back to creation.
15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."
18 The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.
But for Adam [h] no suitable helper was found. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs [i] and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib [j] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

Enough said in my book. God created the Institution of Marriage and man has tried to corrupt it. I live under the authority of God therefore the IoM still stands for me.

having silver or gold. Proverbs 22:1
For about Six months we've been discussing the value of the Instantiation of Marriage (referred to as the IoM). We've learned; the IoM was given to man by God (Genesis 2:21-25), men are to Love their wives as themselves (Ephesians 5:25-33), marriage is between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24), the principals of married life (1 Corinthians 7:2-5) and divorce (Matthew 5:31,32 & Mark 10:11,12).
We were reminded that Jesus upped the standards, ?But I say to you that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.? (Matthew 5:28 MKJV), and wicked were given up their own ways (Romans 1:24-27).
We found that; families with strong Christian values are likely to stay together, children from broken families are more likely to continue the pattern and both people need to work at the relationship to keep it together.
The lengths satan will go to silence the word included making it against the law to preach against homosexuality from the pulpit is some countries.
I would like to thank everyone for reading and participating in this discussion. But now is the meat of the matter. We know the IoM is under attack from the outside influences of satan. Not just homosexual/unmarried couples but the ever increasing number of divorces in this country and the world. Knowing that marriage was created be God for man and divorce was created for ?the hardness of their hearts?, is there a biblical divorce in which adultery isn't the resulting sin? What should be done?

Matthew 19:9
"And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery."
I wonder what is fully meant by immorality. Granted there is the obvious such as cheating, but does physical or mental abuse also fall in there? These things are also immoral or am I just reading to much in to it?

I don't remember which translation that was from, but I looked it up in a few I have here, most of then read Fornication and one read Sexual Immorality, others Whoredom and Unfaithfulness. I think they are rather clear on that point.

The translation I used for the above verse was the NASB, the NLT uses the word unfaithfulness. Either way I did a keyword search on Bible Gateway and only found those types of verses referring to divorce.

If a man became a eunuch, what would that do to his vows? I.E. a man returns from war and he can't feel from the waist down. Thusly, he can't preform his duty to his wife. She has her desires for her husband whom can no longer preform. There is zero chance of him ever having sexual relations again. Agreed, there are other things he might do for her, but the drive s no longer there. Might this be grounds for a biblical pardon? They still love each other, but she might be tempted to sin.

Perhaps a stretch, rebuttal?

Is the IoM in imminent danger? Here is a link to an article about regulating what can be taught in Sunday school or preached from the pulpit. Are our traditional family values about to get the flush? you be the judge.

Recently, Dr. Glen Martin has been having a sermon series studying the book of Mark. had arrives at the part pertaining to the IoM. It's about 30 minutes long, but worth the listen.
